Police Arrest Three Suspected Car Snatchers in Abuja, Kaduna Operations
Police have arrested three suspected members of an armed robbery and car-snatching syndicate said to have operated across Abuja and Kaduna State. The suspects were arrested in coordinated operations between August 14 and 19, 2026. Police said they were linked to several incidents in which vehicles were allegedly taken at gunpoint. Investigators said the suspects allegedly identified a Kuje Correctional Centre inmate, who is facing an armed robbery trial, as the syndicate’s kingpin. The inmate was said to have coordinated operations and the disposal of stolen vehicles within and outside Nigeria. Police recovered a Toyota Corolla and a Volkswagen Golf 3, both described as army-coloured, along with vehicle number plates and keys.
