Bandits Abduct Six, Including Mother and Children, in Kebbi Community Raid
Late on June 5, armed men suspected to be bandits raided Unguwan Dutse in Wasagu Town, Kebbi State. They kidnapped six residents, among them a mother, her two children and three others. Security sources report the attackers struck around 12:40 am, coming from a nearby forest linked to Zamfara. A joint force of police tactical units, military personnel and local vigilantes pursued them after a distress call at 3:40 am, but the bandits had already escaped. Search and rescue operations have been intensified along surrounding forests and escape routes. Authorities say patrols are bolstered and residents should stay vigilant and report any suspicious movement. One of the abductees had publicly urged the state government to address insecurity in the area just hours before the attack.
