Iowa Gunman Kills Six Family Members, Then Takes Own Life
On June 1 in Muscatine, Iowa, a man fatally shot six of his relatives before ending his own life. Police believe the violence stemmed from a domestic dispute, though the exact trigger remains under investigation. Responding officers found four victims inside a home shortly after reports of gunfire. The suspected shooter, identified as a 52-year-old local man, fled the scene but was later located on a nearby riverfront trail. While officers engaged him in conversation, he died by suicide. Further searches uncovered two more victims – one in another residence and one at a business. All six victims were family members of the gunman and have not been publicly named. An ABC affiliate reported that at least two of those killed were children.
