Adeleke Defeats APC by 41 Votes at Oyinlola’s Okuku Polling Unit

Adeleke Defeats APC by 41 Votes at Oyinlola’s Okuku Polling Unit

Governor Ademola Adeleke won Polling Unit 003, Ward 01, Court Hall 1 in Okuku, Odo-Otin Local Government Area, where former Osun Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola voted. Adeleke, the Accord Party candidate, received 125 votes, while the APC polled 84, giving the incumbent a 41-vote margin at the unit. The result is notable because Oyinlola had withdrawn support for Adeleke before the election and endorsed the APC candidate. The former governor, once a close ally of Adeleke, had also criticised the governor's political direction during the campaign.

Do you see this as a broader signal, or mainly a result specific to that polling unit?

Adeleke's 125 votes against APC's 84 makes this particular polling unit a notable result, especially given where Oyinlola voted.

It is a striking unit result, but one polling unit alone should not be stretched into a verdict on the entire election.

The useful thing is to compare this result with other wards and local government figures before drawing wider conclusions.
