Court Releases Ex-Minister Uche Nnaji’s Passport for Medical Travel
The Federal High Court in Abuja has released the international passport of former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology Uche Nnaji, allowing him to travel abroad for medical treatment. Justice Joyce Abdulmalik approved the request following an application by Nnaji’s lawyer. The court adjourned the trial until October 26. Nnaji is facing six charges filed by the ICPC, including alleged certificate forgery, false information and corruption. The commission alleged that he received ₦29.57 million in salaries and allowances while serving as minister. It also accused him of presenting forged NYSC and University of Nigeria certificates during his appointment process. He has pleaded not guilty and denies all allegations. His passport had been deposited with the court as part of his bail conditions.
