Religious Clash in Jos: Woman’s Body Discovered with Warning on Her Chest
Tension flared in Jos North after a woman was found dead at Farin Gada riverbank. A threatening message had been scrawled across her chest. Reports say the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) was attacked and two people were killed despite a minimal police presence. Gunshots were later heard in Angwan Rukuba near Faringada Market. In a related incident, residents of Bukuru Low-cost community discovered another woman’s body dumped in a river. Witnesses, including local resident Tina Gabriel, expressed shock and called for justice. The police have begun investigations and moved the body to the mortuary for examination. Last week, the state was also rocked by the discovery of aborted twins dumped in a refuse site in Pankshin. Community members condemned that act, and the remains were respectfully buried on site.
