Enugu Reaffirms Poster Ban, Warns Violators Could Face ₦50 Million Fine

The Enugu State Structures for Signage and Advertisement Agency has restated its ban on pasting or displaying posters anywhere in the state. It warned that violators could face fines of up to ₦50 million under the state’s signage law. The directive covers political campaign posters and all other forms of posters. It applies to buildings, walls, fences, bridges, electricity poles, roads, public facilities and private property. With the September 26 local government elections and the 2027 general elections approaching, the agency urged political parties, candidates, supporters, advertisers and printers to comply. It advised campaigns to use approved billboards, broadcast, print and digital platforms instead.
