Gombe Court Sentences Two Men to Death by Hanging for Robbery and Murder

A Gombe State High Court has sentenced Buhari Sule and Muktari Ali Hilami to death by hanging for armed robbery and the murder of 35-year-old Murtala Rabi'u. Justice Muhammad-Auwal Haruna found the men guilty of criminal conspiracy, armed robbery and culpable homicide over an attack at Garin Galadima village near Pindiga in Akko Local Government Area on September 18, 2025. The prosecution said the defendants attacked Rabi'u with sticks and hoes, stole his Itel keypad phone and ₦7,400, then dumped his body in a maize farm. The court held that the prosecution proved its case beyond reasonable doubt and ordered that both men be hanged by the neck until dead.
