Bandits Reportedly Kill Four Soldiers, Abduct 70 Residents in Zamfara

Suspected bandits reportedly attacked Kasuwar-Daji community in Kaura Namoda LGA of Zamfara State on Saturday night, overrunning a military outpost and killing four soldiers. A conflict reporter said several soldiers were injured, while a military Hilux vehicle and soldiers’ accommodation were set ablaze before reinforcements arrived from Gusau. The attackers allegedly went on to raid the community, abducting about 70 residents, mostly women and children, and looting several shops. The Nigerian Army and Zamfara State Government had not issued an official statement at the time of the report.
