Security Guard Killed as Mob Beats Suspect to Death at Lekki Cinema
A security guard was killed and another was injured after a man allegedly armed with a machete and knife attempted to enter a cinema in Lekki on Friday night. According to the Lagos State Police Command, security personnel stopped the man at the entrance. He allegedly attacked the guards, killing one of them and injuring another. The suspect was later surrounded and beaten by a crowd before police could fully intervene. He died at the scene. Police say they are reviewing CCTV footage, working to identify the suspect and investigating how he arrived at the cinema with weapons. Two deaths have been confirmed, while the cinema's Chief Security Officer is assisting investigators. The identities of the deceased and the condition of the injured guard have not been released.
