Anambra Police Raid Illegal Alcohol Lab, Arrest Two and Seize Counterfeit Drinks

Anambra Police Raid Illegal Alcohol Lab, Arrest Two and Seize Counterfeit Drinks

The Anambra State Police Command arrested two men and shut down an illicit factory making fake alcoholic beverages. The operation followed credible intelligence that a syndicate was producing and distributing adulterated drinks to unsuspecting consumers. Officers recovered bottles of counterfeit spirits, hazardous chemicals used in the adulteration process, empty containers, labels and packaging materials. Forensic analysis is now under way to establish the full scope of the seized exhibits. The suspects remain in custody pending further investigation and prosecution. The Commissioner of Police warned anyone involved in counterfeiting consumables to desist or face the full weight of the law and urged the public to report suspicious activities.

True talk. Community watch groups fit support police by reporting suspicious activities quickly and raising awareness about fake drinks among neighbours.

I find it odd that these fake alcohol operations ran undetected despite reported intelligence on adulterated drink syndicates.

Local traders should verify suppliers and report any suspicious production sites to authorities rather than buying cheaper unknown brands.
