Niger State Police Command says it has arrested a 29-year-old man over the alleged kidnapping and killing of a large-scale farmer in Zawudna village, Munya LGA. Police said the suspect allegedly hired a gang in 2024 to abduct Jonah Isah for ransom. The gang allegedly attacked Isah’s home on 26 June 2026, killed him and abducted members of his family and three other people. The abductors reportedly demanded ₦2.1 million before the victims were released. Police said the rescued victims implicated the suspect, who allegedly confessed during interrogation. Investigators also allege that he took over the deceased farmer’s land after the attack. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Minna, while efforts to arrest other suspects continue.
