Nigerian Dies After Detention at Indian Railway Police Station
A Nigerian national died after being detained and questioned by railway police in Surat, India, following an alleged altercation on the Golden Temple Express. Police said the incident began after a passenger reported a fight near a train gate while the train was travelling between Vapi and Surat. The man was accused of spraying a fire extinguisher at other passengers and was taken off the train at Surat Railway Station. Authorities said he later collapsed while being questioned at the Railway Protection Force office. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Police have opened an inquiry, registered an accidental-death case and are awaiting the post-mortem report.
