Three Killed in Mangu Despite Plateau Curfew, Community Leaders Raise Alarm
Three community watch members were killed on Tuesday night near the Kyakyau-Gyambwas boundary in Manhunt Halle District, Mangu LGA of Plateau State, despite the dusk-to-dawn curfew in the area. The attack reportedly occurred at about 7:49 p.m., shortly after the 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. restriction began. The victims were identified as Samson Dachet, 45; Gambo Fwangyil, 50; and Zughumnan Bamaiyi, 35. The curfew was imposed across Mangu, Bokkos and Barikin Ladi LGAs after renewed attacks that reportedly claimed dozens of lives. Leaders of the Mwaghavul community said rural border communities remain vulnerable and questioned how armed attackers could operate during restricted hours.
