300-Level Student Stabbed to Death During Phone Snatch in Abuja Barracks
On Sunday 28 June 2026, a 300-level university student was killed inside MD Abubakar Barracks in Jabi, Abuja. The victim had just returned from morning church and was taking photos with his new phone when two men disguised as scavengers demanded it at knifepoint. A struggle ensued and the student was stabbed. Residents rushed him to a nearby hospital, but he died en route. One suspect was caught and beaten by the crowd before police fired tear gas to disperse onlookers. The FCT police have not yet issued a statement. Family members shared messages online mourning a young life cut short and calling for justice and an end to senseless violence.
