Atiku Questions Tinubu Government’s N600bn Cash Transfer Figures
Atiku Abubakar has challenged the Federal Government’s claim that more than ₦600 billion was disbursed to vulnerable households through cash transfers. He said the figures do not align with the stated payment structure of ₦25,000 monthly for three months, or ₦75,000 per household. He also questioned how the government’s earlier claim of reaching 15 million households later became slightly over 10 million households. Atiku called for a verifiable payment trail showing beneficiary households, payment tranches, state-by-state distribution, failed transactions, reversals and an independent audit. He argued that government policy should reduce the number of Nigerians needing palliatives by lowering fuel, transport and food costs.
