Jigawa Police Impound 27 Vehicles, Arraign Drivers Over Traffic Violations
The Jigawa State Police Command has impounded 27 vehicles and arraigned their drivers as it intensifies enforcement against traffic violations under Operation Velvet. Police said the offences included overloading, driving without valid licences and using unauthorised tinted-glass permits. The affected drivers were charged in court in line with applicable laws. The operation will extend to major towns, highways and feeder roads across the state. Motorists have been urged to keep valid documents, avoid overloading and comply with roadworthiness and registration requirements.
