Obasanjo Says Charlie Boy Changed His Mind by Caring for His Parents
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo says he initially had little regard for entertainer Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charlie Boy, despite his respect for Charlie Boy’s late father, Justice Chukwudifu Oputa. Obasanjo said his view changed after visiting Justice Oputa and seeing that Charlie Boy was caring for him. He said Charlie Boy also looked after his mother and behaved like a devoted son to both parents. The former president added that Charlie Boy explained his unconventional public image as part of how he earned a living. Obasanjo described him as intelligent and said he now likes him, though “not too much.”
