Police Arrest Two Suspects Over Killing of Inspector’s Wife in Gombe
Police in Gombe State have arrested two suspects over the killing of Mrs Aishatu Salisu, the wife of a serving police inspector, during an alleged phone robbery at Wuro Shie Quarters. The incident reportedly occurred around 4:35 a.m. on 26 September. The attackers, said to be armed with machetes and cutlasses, allegedly entered the home of Inspector Salisu Waziri and tried to take his wife’s phone. Police said she raised an alarm and was attacked before the suspects fled without the handset. She was taken to the Federal Teaching Hospital, Gombe, where she was confirmed dead. Police said two residents of the area, aged 20 and 18, were arrested after an investigation. A knife was recovered, and the case has been transferred to the State CID for further investigation.
