Edo Police Arrest 15 After Attacks Leave Two Security Personnel Dead
The Edo State Police Command says it has arrested 15 suspects over two separate attacks on security personnel in Sobe and Ewatto, Esan South East Local Government Area. In Sobe, 11 suspects were arrested after youths allegedly attacked police officers and Edo State Security Corps personnel who responded to a report of assault and property damage. Three corps members were injured, a patrol vehicle was damaged, and two locally made guns were recovered. In Ewatto, four suspects were arrested over an attack on Edo State Security Network personnel Martins Enahoro and another officer, who were confirmed dead after sustaining multiple cut injuries. Police said two suspects admitted belonging to rival confraternities. Security has been reinforced in both areas, while investigations continue to identify other suspects and arrest those still at large.
