Troops Rescue Three Women Abandoned by Terrorists in Zamfara, Foil Attack in Sokoto
Troops of Sector 2 under Joint Task Force North West Operation FANSAN YAMMA have rescued three young women who spent about three months in terrorist captivity. The victims were found abandoned by their captors during an offensive patrol in Bagega, Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State and immediately evacuated for medical checks. In a follow-up operation on 23 June, soldiers acting on credible intelligence set an ambush at Kwanar Jollof in Shinkafi Local Government Area of Sokoto State. Under heavy fire, the terrorists fled in disarray, leaving behind a PKT machine gun, ammunition, motorcycles and other items. These coordinated actions highlight the effectiveness of intelligence-driven patrols in disrupting terrorist networks. The Joint Task Force remains committed to maintaining pressure on criminal elements until lasting peace and security are restored across the North West.
