EFCC Probes Kano Traveller Over Undeclared $265,000 Found at Airport

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has begun investigating Adam Musa Adam after he was arrested with $265,000 at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport. Customs officers reportedly intercepted him after he arrived from New Delhi on an Ethiopian Airlines flight on 26 September 2026. His luggage was flagged for further checks, during which the cash was allegedly found concealed among his personal belongings. Customs said moving foreign currency above the approved threshold without declaration violates money-laundering and customs laws. The Kano Command added that it has intercepted undeclared currencies and other negotiable instruments valued at more than ₦2.5 billion since January.
