Imam Jingir Renews Muslim-Muslim Ticket Support After ₦600m University Donation

Plateau-based Islamic cleric Yahaya Jingir renewed his support for the APC’s Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket after a ₦600 million donation was announced for his religious university project. Ibrahim Masari, a special adviser to President Bola Tinubu, said he would donate ₦300 million, while Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni would contribute another ₦300 million. Jingir said the funds were for education and not for his personal use. At the event, Jingir urged Muslims to support another Muslim-Muslim ticket in the 2027 election. The remarks and donation announcement have drawn criticism online, with some Nigerians questioning the relationship between religious leaders, political figures and campaign support.
