Anambra Police Arrest 13 in Raids, Recover Firearm, Drugs and Stolen Vehicle
Police and operatives of the Anambra State Vigilance Group have arrested 13 suspects in separate operations across the state over alleged cultism, armed robbery and related offences. In Okpoko, officers arrested one suspect during a raid on a suspected criminal hideout and later detained eight others allegedly linked to cult activities. Police said they recovered a locally made double-barrel pistol, a live cartridge, charms and confraternity insignia. In another operation in Onitsha, four suspects were arrested over an alleged armed robbery and goods-diversion ring. Investigators said the group was accused of diverting goods valued at about ₦40 million. Officers also recovered suspected illicit substances, while a Toyota Highlander reportedly stolen in August was found abandoned in Ogidi.
