Gyel Community Residents Block Jos South Secretariat in Protest Over Two Women’s Killings
Tension gripped Gyel community in Jos South Local Government Area after gunmen killed two women. The victims were found dead in the early hours of Monday, July 20, near the local government secretariat. Angered by recurring violence and perceived security lapses, women and youths marched to the local government secretariat carrying the bodies of the deceased. They blocked parts of the road and disrupted vehicular movement. The protesters demanded urgent action and justice. They called on federal and state authorities to strengthen security operations, intensify surveillance, and bring those responsible to justice to restore confidence among residents.
