Nasarawa APC Removes Rival Candidate From Campaign Council Amid Rainbow Coalition Row
The Nasarawa APC has removed Kabiru Dallah, the Zenith Labour Party candidate for Lafia/Obi Federal Constituency, from its governorship campaign council after his inclusion sparked criticism within the party. Party members questioned why a candidate from another party was listed on the Youth Mobilisation Committee and alleged a possible link to Nyesom Wike’s Rainbow Coalition. The state secretary, Yarus Daguza, denied any alliance and said Dallah’s name had been deleted. Some aggrieved members are demanding that Governor Abdullahi Sule withdraw and restructure the entire campaign council. They argue that wider consultations are needed to accommodate stakeholders and rebuild confidence ahead of the 2027 elections. The dispute has also fuelled complaints that supporters of unsuccessful aspirants and some APC candidates have not been adequately carried along.
