Peter Okoye Says P-Square’s 2021 Reunion Was Not a Genuine Music Comeback

Peter Okoye Says P-Square’s 2021 Reunion Was Not a Genuine Music Comeback

Peter Okoye has spoken about his strained relationship with his twin brother, Paul Okoye, saying their widely celebrated 2021 P-Square reunion was not a genuine return to making music together. Peter said he sought reconciliation as brothers after Paul allegedly apologised to his wife, Lola. He recalled visiting Paul’s home and hugging him in a moment that led many fans to believe P-Square had reunited. According to Peter, Paul later said he wanted peace rather than a return to the group. Peter also denied trying to undermine Paul, Jude Okoye or Paul’s family, and claimed he wrote and produced about 99 per cent of P-Square’s songs. He says he is ready to share more details about their long-running dispute.

Do fans see a reunion differently when the brothers reconcile personally but are not truly creating music together?

I agree. Personal peace can mean a lot to fans, but a real creative return is a different thing entirely.

The 2021 reunion may have looked complete publicly, yet Peter's comments suggest the family relationship remained complicated behind it.

Calling it not genuine feels a bit harsh; reconciliation between brothers can still matter even if the musical partnership was not fully restored.

It may help to separate brotherhood from business: honest private conversations and clear expectations could prevent fans from reading too much into reunions.
