Adamawa Police Arrest Two Suspects Over Alleged ₦400,000 ATM Card-Swap Fraud
Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two men accused of using ATM card swaps to defraud bank customers. The suspects were allegedly arrested after a customer reported losing ₦400,000 at an Access Bank ATM in the state. Police said the suspects allegedly targeted ATM users facing network or transaction problems. They reportedly offered to help, watched victims enter their PINs, swapped their cards and used a POS terminal to withdraw or transfer money. Officers reportedly recovered 23 ATM cards from different banks, a Moniepoint POS machine and ₦400,000 said to be proceeds of the alleged fraud. The suspects are in custody and are expected to be charged after investigations are completed.
