Ibadan Court Remands Man Over Alleged Attempted Kidnapping
An Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan has remanded 35-year-old Muhammadu Adamu at the Agodi Correctional Facility over an alleged attempted kidnapping. Adamu, who lives in Awe, Afijio Local Government Area of Oyo State, faces two counts of attempted kidnapping and attending a meeting of an alleged kidnap syndicate. The court did not take his plea because it lacks jurisdiction over the charges. The prosecution alleged that he attempted to kidnap Abdullahi Abubakar on August 3 and attended a syndicate meeting. The case was adjourned until November 9 for mention, pending the filing of charges at the appropriate high court.
