Ondo Man Arrested Over Alleged Rape of Pregnant Woman With Intellectual Disability
The Ondo State Agency for the Welfare of Persons with Disabilities has condemned the alleged rape of a 20-year-old pregnant woman with an intellectual disability in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area. The incident reportedly occurred on September 9 on Ajegunle Street. Police arrested a 40-year-old suspect after the case was reported by a community elder, the agency said. The agency says it attended court on September 18 and will monitor the prosecution to ensure the survivor receives justice. It also urged stronger enforcement of laws protecting people with disabilities from sexual violence and discrimination.
