Former Benue SSG Prof. David Salifu Killed in Bandit Ambush on Wukari–Makurdi Road
Professor David Salifu, former Secretary to the Benue State Government and lecturer at the Federal University Wukari, has died after being shot during a suspected bandit attack. He was travelling from Wukari to Makurdi on Thursday when armed men stopped his vehicle. Witnesses say they ordered him onto a motorcycle and shot him after he questioned their demand. Salifu was rushed to Benue State University Teaching Hospital in Makurdi but succumbed to his injuries early Friday. His death was confirmed by a close associate and a local political figure.
