Ejimakor Says Monday Sit-at-Home Still Holds in Parts of Southeast

Aloy Ejimakor, lead counsel to IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu, says the Monday sit-at-home is still observed to varying degrees across the Southeast despite recent efforts by the region’s governors to end it. Drawing on his travels over the past four Mondays and an informal poll, Ejimakor said commercial activity is gradually returning in some urban areas. He added that compliance remains more visible in rural communities. According to him, many residents now stay home voluntarily as a symbolic protest over Kanu’s continued detention, rather than because of enforcement, directives or threats.
