2027 Elections: NSCDC Warns Officers Against Voter Intimidation and Unlawful Orders
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has warned its personnel against voter intimidation, abuse of citizens, abandoning duty posts and obeying unlawful orders ahead of the 2027 general elections. Commandant-General Ahmed Audi gave the warning on October 27, 2026, while opening a three-day election-security workshop in Abuja for 216 officers drawn from state, zonal and FCT commands. He urged officers to remain neutral, professional and vigilant while protecting electoral materials, election officials and voters. He said personnel must understand electoral rules, intelligence gathering, de-escalation and coordination with other security agencies to support free and peaceful polls.
