Abia Police Arrest Father, Three Others Over Alleged Plan to Traffic 16-Month-Old Daughter
The Abia State Police Command has arrested a father and three other suspects over an alleged plan to traffic his 16-month-old daughter for money. Police said the suspects were arrested on September 7 at a hotel in Obi, Obingwa Local Government Area. The child was rescued and handed over to the Ministry of Women Affairs, while investigations continue. The Commissioner of Police, Wilfred Afolabi, said the command has also recorded over 152 criminal cases and arrested more than 220 suspects since August 10. He added that nine kidnap victims were rescued, ammunition and stolen vehicles were recovered, and two criminal networks were dismantled.
