NAF Receives Five Helicopters to Strengthen Counterterrorism Operations
The Nigerian Air Force has received five new helicopters in Lagos to expand air support for troops combating terrorism, banditry and kidnapping. The delivery includes three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters and two H-125 helicopters. The AW-109s are part of a 10-helicopter order, with the remaining seven expected before the end of 2026. The aircraft are expected to support intelligence gathering, surveillance, reconnaissance, close air support, armed escort and search-and-rescue operations. They are undergoing assembly and crew-readiness procedures before being inducted into service.
