NDC Chairmen Allege Obidient Movement Is Sidelining Party Structures Ahead of 2027

State chairmen of the Nigeria Democratic Congress have said support groups linked to Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso must work within the party’s approved campaign structure ahead of the 2027 general election. The NDC chairman in Anambra, David Chukwudifu, alleged that the Obidient Movement had sidelined party officials and its 326 ward chairmen in the state. He also claimed that Peter Obi had not responded to calls to address the disagreement. Party leaders in Osun, Ogun and Kano said no support group could run campaigns independently without party approval. However, the Adamawa chairman denied that there was a division, saying the national leadership would release a campaign list accommodating all interest groups.
