Abia Police Arrest Father Over Alleged Abuse of 13-Year-Old Son in Aba

The Abia State Police Command has arrested Uzoma Uwaeme over the alleged abuse of his 13-year-old son in Aba. Police said a viral video showed the boy tied with a rope, severely flogged, stripped and left under the sun. Officers from the Abayi Division reportedly arrested the suspect at his home on Nwokocha Street, off Udeabara Road. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department. The boy has received medical care, is in stable condition and remains under police protection. The Commissioner of Police condemned the alleged act and said the suspect would be prosecuted in line with the law.
