NPC Chairman Aminu Yusuf Wushishi Dies After Brief Illness

The Chairman of the National Population Commission, Dr Aminu Yusuf Wushishi, has died after a brief illness. His death was confirmed by his Special Adviser on Media, Stanley Nwosu. Wushishi reportedly died on Friday, August 28, 2026. He assumed office as NPC chairman on December 2, 2025, eight months before his death. He was also a former secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party in Niger State.
