Police in Delta State have arrested a 45-year-old man, Lawrence Onowenakpo, over the alleged theft of musical equipment from a church. He was reportedly intercepted on September 19 while travelling with other fleeing suspects in two Toyota Sienna vehicles carrying the equipment. The other members of the group reportedly escaped. A former Nigeria Police Force spokesperson said the incident reflects worsening insecurity, noting that churches were once widely regarded as places of refuge.
