2027: Peter Obi Says Voters Will Resist Intimidation at Polling Units

Peter Obi has said Nigerians will resist intimidation at polling units during the 2027 general election. Speaking at a town hall meeting in Rivers State, the former Anambra governor urged voters to stay focused on protecting the integrity of their votes. Obi also raised concerns about possible attempts to undermine electronic result transmission through the INEC Result Viewing Portal. He said election stakeholders should be prepared to document and verify results through alternative lawful channels if technical failures occur. The former presidential candidate linked his electoral message to wider concerns about Nigeria’s economic decline, aviation, shipping and healthcare. His comments are likely to renew debate over voter safety, election technology and result collation ahead of 2027.
