Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde says the Allied People’s Movement, APM, is positioned for a major victory in the 2027 general elections. He spoke on September 21, 2026, at a political gathering in Ibadan where he received thousands of people said to have defected from the All Progressives Congress, APC, to the APM. Makinde said the defections showed growing support for the party. He also urged Senator Sharafadeen Alli, the Oyo APC governorship candidate, to focus on the coming election rather than criticising his administration.
