IPOB Leader’s Wife Denies Rumours of Divorce Filing

IPOB Leader’s Wife Denies Rumours of Divorce Filing

Uchechi Okwu-Kanu has dismissed reports that she filed for divorce from her husband, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. She called the claims false and urged the public to treat them as malicious misinformation. In her social media statement, she stressed that no divorce papers were ever filed. She asked Nigerians to rely only on information from her or her authorised representatives. Her clarification comes as Nnamdi Kanu serves a life sentence at the Sokoto Correctional Centre. He was convicted on seven terrorism-related charges in a 2025 Federal High Court ruling and received concurrent prison terms.

I'm not convinced social media statements alone can dismiss the entire story without more evidence.

Maybe cross-checking official court records or direct clarification from the marriage registry could prevent similar misinformation.
