Edo Announces Benin City Road Closures for Oluremi Tinubu’s Visit

The Edo State Government will divert traffic and temporarily close parts of Benin City from 6am to 6pm on Thursday, October 15, ahead of First Lady Oluremi Tinubu’s visit. Joromi Junction by Ekewan Road and Stadium Road at the Ekewan Road junction will be affected. Motorists have been advised to use alternative routes and plan their journeys early. The First Lady is expected to commission new CNG buses procured by the state government and empower 5,000 Edo women through the Renewed Hope Initiative. Vehicles attending the programme will be directed to park at the University of Benin, Ekehuan Campus. Roadside painting, cleaning and renovation work around Ring Road, Airport Road and other major corridors have also contributed to traffic congestion in parts of the city.
