Cross River Launches Six-Month EV Repair Training for 1,000 Youths
The Cross River State Youth Empowerment Scheme, in partnership with the Federal Government and Shema Energy, has begun a six-month electric vehicle repair and maintenance training programme for 1,000 young people. The training will include three months of classroom instruction and three months of practical experience. Participants will study diagnostics, mechatronics, vehicle maintenance and related technical skills. Monthly stipends will be paid subject to verified attendance. The state said the programme is intended to prepare youths for jobs and entrepreneurship in electric mobility. Cross River has also procured electric buses, cars, tricycles and motorcycles, creating a need for locally trained technicians to operate and maintain them.
