Woman Arrested Over Alleged Killing of Co-Wife in Kogi Community
A woman identified as Khadijat has reportedly been arrested over the alleged killing of her co-wife, Ramatu, after an argument in Ijoka community, Olamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State. The incident reportedly occurred on August 13, 2026, while members of the family were harvesting palm kernels in the bush. Their husband, Jibrin, said Ramatu raised an alarm during the alleged attack, drawing the attention of relatives working nearby. Jibrin said Ramatu was found with multiple stab wounds and was confirmed dead. He alleged that the two women had disagreed weeks earlier and appealed for calm, stressing that the incident was a family dispute and not an attack by members of the host community. A local radio presenter later confirmed that Khadijat had been taken into custody. Authorities are expected to continue their investigation.
