Alleged PFIPC Founder Pleads Not Guilty to Forgery and Impersonation Charges

Adeniyi Adeyemi, accused of creating and operating the purported Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), has been arraigned at the Federal High Court in Abuja. He pleaded not guilty to eight counts of alleged forgery and impersonation. Prosecutors allege that Adeyemi and two others forged documents claiming he was appointed by President Bola Tinubu. One of the documents allegedly carried the signature of the President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila. The court ordered Adeyemi remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre pending the hearing of his bail application. The case has drawn attention after the Presidency denied that PFIPC was an officially established government body, while Adeyemi has made unsubstantiated claims about payments connected to his alleged appointment.
