Troops Repel Terrorist Attack on Kukawa, Kill Dozens in Air and Ground Operations
Troops of Operation HADIN KAI repelled a late-night terrorist attack on the 101 Special Forces Battalion in Kukawa, Borno State. The attackers reportedly withdrew towards the Cross Kauwa axis after troops engaged them with direct and indirect fire. Ground forces, air assets and intelligence teams from the Multi-National Joint Task Force coordinated follow-up operations against the fleeing fighters. The military said air strikes killed an estimated 25 terrorists and destroyed 10 motorcycles. Troops also recovered two motorcycles, ammunition and other items during clearance operations. Battle-damage assessment and further exploitation of the area are ongoing.
