Cardwell Man Sentenced to Life for Decapitating His Mother

A man in Cardwell, Missouri, has received a life sentence without parole after being found guilty of killing and decapitating his 63-year-old mother. Prosecutors showed that 43-year-old Trevor John Huber appeared disoriented and under the influence of methamphetamine when officers arrived on December 21, 2018. He later admitted in a Mirandized interview that he believed his mother was poisoning him and even wrote “I killed my mother” before tearing up and swallowing the note. Investigators recovered the victim’s head, a bloody knife, and a hammer at the scene. Officials thanked the Dunklin County Sheriff’s Office and the Missouri State Highway Patrol for their thorough work that led to Huber’s conviction.
