Okorocha, Uzodimma Clash Over Control of Imo APC Ahead of 2027
Former Imo State governor Rochas Okorocha says he remains the leading figure in the All Progressives Congress in the state, rejecting claims that Governor Hope Uzodimma now controls the party structure. Speaking in a television interview, Okorocha said he built the APC in Imo through years of political organising and still commands strong grassroots support. He accused Uzodimma’s loyalists of trying to seize control of the party through propaganda and political manoeuvring. The dispute comes after a Federal High Court reportedly recognised Okorocha as the APC candidate for Imo West Senatorial District in the 2027 election. Imo APC leaders have rejected the ruling, maintained that Uzodimma is the party’s candidate, and said they would seek legal remedies.
