Missing New York Rabbi Found Dismembered in Bogota Wardrobe
A 51-year-old rabbi from Brooklyn’s Belz Hasidic community traveled to Bogota to advise a group of recent converts and then vanished. His family reported him missing when he suddenly stopped answering calls. On April 26, locals discovered a blue, blood-stained wardrobe dumped on a street. Colombian authorities later confirmed the dismembered remains inside belonged to the missing rabbi. Investigators suspect a gang targeting tourists carried out the attack during a robbery. The rabbi’s family is working with officials to repatriate his body and has sought to prevent an autopsy amid the ongoing investigation.
